Melonite QPQ

MeloniteŽ provides one of the finest solutions for replacement of hard chrome plating in the hydraulic industry. These MeloniteŽ QPQ treated cylinders are found in one of the toughest applications we know the sump pit below the compactor in a refuse limousine.

Day after day, the cylinders perform in this corrosive environment. Amino acids of all types constantly drip on the extended plunger. Replacement of the cylinder unit is a task no maintenance department would want especially on a hot summer day.

Our treated plungers live and survive in this environment. Our clients report that during normal maintenance they have repacked bearings, seals and wipers - but have not had to replace the plunger. This saves significant dollars in this application.

MeloniteŽ diffuses into the surface of the steel, transforming the base metal. This hard outer shell is not only resistant to rusting, it outperforms the chrome plate in wear tests as well as simulated environmental tests to measure corrosion resistance like Salt Spray and CASS Testing.

MeloniteŽ lives in severe performance applications.

For the very best treatment - give us a call, we'll share our other success stories and technical data.
